Thursday, Aug 20 – I had the worst technology hell-week ever. I struggled over a broken video camera (hence the delay in this post), viruses, crashed computers, lost files, car trouble, internet outage, tv outage, and phone outage. MAMMA MIA! I talk about how to keep it together in a time like this!! I’m still working on it.. b-r-e-a-t-h-e.. enjoy the video!

When you take initiative and be a leader, you will feel more empowered about everything you do. August 12, 2009 – Today I talk about the BE-DO-HAVE paradigm. Throughout our lives we’ve been told that we have to DO – HAVE and then BE. Example:
- If you Do study hard at school, you can Have a good job, and you’ll Be successful.
- If you Do eat the right food and exercise, you’ll Have a healthy body, and you’ll Be happy.
NOT SO! That is completely backwards. We need to get the Universe on our side to truly manifest what we desire.
The Universe responds to our thoughts, feelings and vibrations. To meet this, we need to reverse the process to BE-DO-HAVE. If we can BE the successful person NOW that we always wanted to be, and then DO the things that successful people do, then we can HAVE everything we’ve always wanted. This principle requires us to create ourselves and our reality from WITHIN.
In a nutshell, Learn to BE who you want to be, DO the things the you want to do and HAVE the results you want.

July 23 – Today I talk about how to know when you have truly been awakened and aware and in control of your destiny. Its when you listen to your SOUL voice which makes your heart sing when you are doing the right thing. Its when that voice overpowers the external voices who limit you and hold you back. Today I want to write about a great movement happening. It’s entrepreneurship, non-profit, social change all wrapped up in one wonderful organization. It’s called Swap-O-Rama-Rama. Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing. It was created by my friend Wendy Tremayne.
I had the honor of being at one of the first events in 2004 in Brooklyn when 10 women dumped their clothes in the middle of someone’s living room, drank wine, and went home with lots of cool new looks – for free. We were all riled up about anti-consumer behavior and didn’t want to purchase new clothes when there were so many in the world already to be repurposed and shared. The idea was that there is so much abundance already if everyone gives. And we didn’t need to feed the corporate beast and spend money needlessly if we don’t have to. I watched as it blossomed into a huge event. It got bigger, and bigger, and the last one I went to was again in Brooklyn in 2006 in a 5000 square foot space.
Now it’s also become a creative commons, non-profit that offers cities around the world assistance in producing Swap-O-Rama-Rama events in which communities are engaged in artist lead workshops, silk screening and sewing as they repurpose used clothing into new goods. The essence of the event is the transformation of consumers into creators through experiential play. The event, now in over 60 cities world wide, has recycled hundreds of thousands of pounds of clothing.
Swap-O-Rama-Rama is up for a grant in the Grant For Change Program. If you like what you see, please take a quick minute to vote for it! The way that this grant is awarded is by vote. Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a one woman show, Wendy Tremayne runs it with no help. This grant is sorely needed! So please cast your vote.
